How to judge the quality of felt fabric for car roofs?

To judge the quality of automotive roof felt fabric, multiple dimensions such as appearance, performance, environmental protection and durability need to be comprehensively considered. The following are the specific assessment methods and key parameters:
surface flatness
Observation requirements : The surface of high-quality felt fabric should be smooth and fine, without blisters, delamination or obvious wrinkles. Slight unevenness may be visually noticeable under the curved roof light, but there should be no sense of concavity or convexity when touched by hand. If there is a hollow feeling or large areas of wrinkles when pressed, it indicates assembly or bonding defects.
Texture consistency : The texture of the sewn non-woven fabric should be uniform, and there should be no fiber shedding after edge cutting. For printed patterns, it is necessary to ensure that the designs are clear and free of color differences.
material feel
When touched by hand, it should be soft and elastic, without any rough or prickly feeling. Knitted composite fabric has a more flexible touch due to the presence of a polyurethane sponge layer. Low-end needle-punched non-woven fabric feels stiff and is prone to pilling.
odor detection
Qualified products have no peculiar smell (such as the pungent odor of formaldehyde). Give priority to choosing formaldehyde-free materials with SGS certification (formaldehyde emission ≤0.05mg/m³), especially for family cars.
flame retardant performance
Mandatory standard : It must comply with GB 8410-2006, with a burning speed of ≤100mm/min (domestic mandatory certification). It can pass the edge ignition test: it should quickly self-extinguish after being removed from the fire source, without continuous smoldering.
High-end materials may incorporate anti-fouling coatings and possess hydrophobicity (water droplet contact Angle ≥110°).
